The PIL bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Monday made clear that it would consider appointing a three-member committee at each district to examine and report the state of affairs of ‘rescue homes’ in the state of Telangana. In the case of AP the bench voiced concern that the government had not responded to a writ plea.

The plea is filed by city-based NGO Prajwala complaining that the governments had failed to provide proper rescue homes for victims of trafficking and that resultantly it was facing a huge burden. The NGO also complained that the governments were not providing proper infrastructure support to the victims rescued from sex trade.
