Note-for-vote: ACB replaces investigating official. When Elvis Stephenson on May 28 lodged a complaint with ACB Director General AK Khan, alleging that he was approached by Matthias and Sebastian to vote for TDP with an offer of Rs 2 crore, ACB chief appointed Ashok Kumar as the investigating officer.

Hyderabad: In a major development, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials who are probing the ‘cash-for-vote’ scam have been replaced. ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ashok Kumar who led the ‘Special Operation’ that resulted in the arrests of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA A Revanth Reddy and two others - Harry Sebastian and Rudra Uday Simha - have been replaced with Additional SP (Mahbubnagar) M Malla Reddy.

It is learnt that Ashok Kumar would be assisting Reddy in providing related documents as he had laid the groundwork in the probe but the actual operation would be headed by Malla Reddy.

Similarly, V Shiva Kumar SP (Karimnagar) has been transferred and appointed as ACB (Joint Director). Speculations are rife that Shiva Kumar was roped in as he is a tech savvy and well versed with Information Technology (IT) who would be convincingly present the arguments on behalf of ACB in the court.
