An All-party meeting headed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday decided to constitute special committees to look after several key issues. The government has decided to adopt the waste management system which was proposed by the 30-member all-party committee after visiting Delhi and Nagpur.

Govt to adopt new waste management system in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: An All-party meeting headed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday decided to constitute special committees to look after several key issues. The government has decided to adopt the waste management system which was proposed by the 30-member all-party committee after visiting Delhi and Nagpur.


The committee has also decided to constitute special committees to look after seven key issues like drinking water supply, management of nalas, garbage lifting, debris removal,sewerage, dump-yards and urban health centres. This committee will inspect the progress of the works every week.

The Chief Minister has announced that the government has decided to build, 200 model markets, 50 multi-level parking complexes,175 bus-bays, 50 multi-purpose function halls, 36 graveyards, modernising and beautification of of 36 lakes, 18 dhobi-ghats, to develop 150 parks, 1000 playgrounds, 1000 gyms and to set up 1000 libraries in the city.

Telangana deputy chief minister Mahmood Ali, ministers, MPs, MLCs, MLAs and senior officials of the GHMC, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB), Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company (TSSPDCL) and various other officials took part in the meeting.
