Blaming Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for the soft handling of the cash-for-vote scam that led to the attorney general advising Governor to implement Section 8 of the bifurcation Act, Senior Congress legislator T. Jeevan Reddy on Tuesday said that AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should have been booked as a key conspirator and accused on the day TDP MLA Revanth Reddy was taken into custody or Bishop Harry Sebastian disclosed the involvement of Mr Naidu.

Mr Jeevan Reddy said that KCR instead made statements on Chandrababu Naidu resulting in not only a costly blunder but also gave time for the AP Chief Minister to pressurize the Centre. Stating that AP is not mentioned in the Section 8 of the bifurcation Act, Mr Reddy said that the Governor should take the advice only from the TS Council of Ministers over the common capital area of Hyderabad.

Mr Jeevan Reddy added that even if the phone tapping allegations by the TD leaders were assumed to be true, the AP government should have filed a complaint with the TS police as AP Police neither has the jurisdiction nor the powers to investigate the matter.
