The Telangana government has decided to issue medical counselling notification after July 20. As full-fledged infrastructure is yet to be put in place at Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, it was decided that this time EAMCET medical counselling will be conducted by NTR Health University with the technical support of Telangana Higher Education Council.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to issue medical counselling notification after July 20. As full-fledged infrastructure is yet to be put in place at Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, it was decided that this time EAMCET medical counselling will be conducted by NTR Health University with the technical support of Telangana Higher Education Council.


The Minister for Health Dr C Lakshma Reddy has discussed about medical counselling with the Principal Secretary of Health, Director of Medical Education, Director of National Informatics Centre and TSCHC Chairman and NTR Health University officials here on Tuesday.


Four centres were selected for counselling, two in Hyderabad and each one in Warangal and Vijayawada. Letter of permission from Medical Council of India will be received after July 20 and within five days, the counselling notification will be issued.To ensure transparency in private medical counselling, the Telangana government has appointed two officials.


First, 15 percent of unreserved seats will be filled, then the 85 percent as per the GO no. 42 of Higher education department will be filled. While 85 percent of the seats in each college will be reserved for local candidates, remaining 15 per cent unreserved seats will be filled by applicants from EAMCET rank holders.


In respect of state-wide institutions, admission to the 85 percent of seats reserve for local candidates will be reserved in favour of Andhra Pradesh and Nagarajuna University area, Osmania and Kakatiya University Area and Sri Venkateswara University Area in the ratio of 42:36:22 respectively as per the rule.


In Telangana state, medical course tuition fee per annum for A category seat is Rs 60,000 and B category is Rs 9 lakh and Rs 11 lakh for C category (NRI). While in Andhra Pradesh A category fee per annum is Rs 10,000 and B category is Rs 11,00,000 and C category (NRI) not exceeding five times maximum chargeable to B category students per annum.


And for Dental course the fee structure per annum for in Telangana - A category is Rs 45,000 and B category is Rs 4 lakh and Rs 5 lakh for C category. In Andhra Pradesh for Dental course the fee per annum for A category is Rs 10,000, B category is Rs 4.5 lakh, and C category (NRI) not exceeding five times maximum chargeable to B category students per annum.
