Lok Ayukta adjourns hearing to August 6
The Lok Ayukta has adjourned the hearing to August 6 on the allegations of corruption against Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy. Former MP Ponnam Prabhakar and Congress MLA Sampath Kumar, who lodged the complaint against the Minister, were present when the Lok Ayukta heard the case on Wednesday.
Hyderabad: The Lok Ayukta has adjourned the hearing to August 6 on the allegations of corruption against Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy. Former MP Ponnam Prabhakar and Congress MLA Sampath Kumar, who lodged the complaint against the Minister, were present when the Lok Ayukta heard the case on Wednesday.
Speaking to media persons later, Prabhkar reiterated his allegation that Jagadish Reddy, as the then Education Minister, and TRS MLC Pulla Rajeshwar Reddy received 5 per cent kickbacks from the managements of private colleges to clear fee reimbursement dues. He said he had sufficient evidence to prove his allegations.
Prabhakar also alleged that the entire proceeds of kickbacks were transferred to Rajeshwar Reddy's foreign bank account in OCBC Bank of Singapore. He demanded a high-level inquiry into the alleged scam.
