The central government has reportedly decided to intervene into bringing in peace between the AP and Telangana governments over claiming ownership of the institutions listed in the 10th Schedule of the AP Bifurcation Act and will appoint various task force committees for easy transactions of the institutions.

The decision was conveyed to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan in Delhi on Friday by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Secretary L.C. Goel. Quoting provisions of the Act, the Telangana government has been claiming ownership of all institutions located in Telangana, petitioned the AP government to the Centre.

Not only with the institutions, has the distribution of employees along with assets of various public institutions escalated tensions between the two governments. Telangana Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma however stated that Centre’s intervention would be accepted only if it fits in the Bifurcation Act and since the one year deadline has lapsed, the institutions located in TS will be claimed as per the provisions of the Act.
