Hyderabad: Telangana State has achieved growth trajectory in the first year after the bifurcation of the State. The State’s GSDP ( Gross State Domestic Product) at the current prices is Rs 4,30,599 crore in 2014-15 as against the previous year GSDP of Rs 391751 crore.


A publication - ‘Economy in brief-Telangana State – 2015,’ released by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics here, said that the State had registered a growth rate of 9.9 per cent GSDP. In terms of constant prices, the growth rate of the State is 5.3 per cent.


The study said that Telangana stood in the first position in the production of soya bean in the country and stands second position in paddy, maize and groundnut, third position in Bengal gram, sugarcane and sunflower. On comparison with southern States, Telangana stood first in production of onion, also second in mango, lemon, guava and lady’s finger. Similarly, it stood second in production of turmeric and tomato.


This is the first such publication after the formation of Telangana State. The publication is useful for the administrators for prospective planning, technocrats to improve their strategies in improving farming marketing techniques.
