Nalgonda: Telangana Minority Employees Association (TMEA) demanded 12 percent reservations to Muslim minorities in education, employment and promotions of government employees. Speaking at the general body meeting of TMEA Nalgonda district unit in Nalgonda on Sunday, state working president S K Chand Pasha sought Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao should fulfill his promise of 12 percent quota to Muslim minorities, which would help their development.

He pointed out that majority families of Muslim minorities are below poverty line, but denied of benefits of government welfare schemes. Reminding the severe staff crunch in Urdu medium schools, he urged the government to fill up all the vacant posts in Urdu medium schools in the district. He sought the government to sanction an Urdu medium D.Ed College to Nalgonda district, keeping in mind the Muslim population in the district.

Chand Pasha further said the State government should also introduce a sub-plan for Muslims on the lines of SC/ST sub-plans. The government should distribute three acres of land to each poor and landless Muslim family, he added. The government should sanction loans to Muslim minority employees, without any conditions. Association district president M A Basheer Khan, associate president Md Khaja Moinuddin, district general secretary Md Yousufuddin and others were among others who attended the meeting.
