Chaos at Nizamabad civic body meet
The Nizamabad Municipal Corporation general body meeting was held amid a heated and tense atmosphere. The opposition parties’ corporators raised objections over implementing of previous meeting agenda issues and removal of encroachments on footpaths.
Nizamabad: The Nizamabad Municipal Corporation general body meeting was held amid a heated and tense atmosphere. The opposition parties’ corporators raised objections over implementing of previous meeting agenda issues and removal of encroachments on footpaths.
Nizamabad Municipal Corporation Mayor Akula Sujatha presided over the general body meeting, which discussed about 20 issues. The ruling TRS party’s ally MIM corporators raised objections at the meeting over not implementing various issues of the previous general body meeting and raised slogans against the Mayor.
The MIM corporators demanded the mayor to immediately chalk out a plan to help the small vendors who are evicted from the footpaths. Other hand, the BJP and other parties corporators raised objections over illegal constructions of sheds in corporation’s building premises and demanded removal of the encroachments.
The general body meeting unanimously approved ‘New Master Plan Preparation’ and appointed ‘Aarvee Associates-Hyderabad’ as a plan preparing agency. This agency should prepare ‘Master Plan’ for Nizamabad Municipal Corporation within six months.
The meeting also gave approval for other 19 agenda issues; permission to appoint sanitation workers and drivers on outsourcing basis, setting up a slaughter-house by Telangana Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation on public-private basis and other issues.
