Hyderabad: Telangana Congress may face a big blow as the party senior leader and former PCC president of the united Andhra Pradesh D Srinivas reportedly has made up his mind to shift loyalties to the ruling TRS soon. According sources, the TRS has already instructed the rank and file in Nizamabad not to object to the entry of DS. There were strong speculations in political circles on Tuesday that Srinivas would meet the TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in a week before joining the party.

The senior Congress leader has been offered MLC seat under local body quota and also a ministerial berth in KCR cabinet. In 2019, his son may be fielded in place of DS. It is also said that he had even met K Keshav Rao during the day. DS has been staying away from the party activities after he was denied TPCC chief post and also MLC ticket under MLA quota for which the elections were held recently.

He was reportedly unhappy for not being given time to meet AICC president Sonia Gandhi. Sources said that TRS Secretary General K Keshav Rao has been mediating and had convinced DS to join TRS. Rao, who was also PCC chief before joining the Telangana party, has been maintaining close relations with DS. Both the leaders met twice recently.

DS also discussed the political future of his son D Sanjay, who was the Mayor of Nizamabad Municipal Corporation between 2006-11 and staying away from active politics.
