Bhadrachalam (Khammam): It appears that the days of making long pilgrimages and waiting in serpentine queues for a glimpse of Lord Rama and His Consorts, especially during the mega events such as Godavari Pushkaralu, Sri Rama Navami and Vaikunta Ekadasi besides other important days, are finally over.

The authorities are all set to introduce online bookings of Seeghra Darshan, Arjitha and other Sevas in the ancient Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam ahead of Godavari Pushkaralu, the once-in-a-12-year mega religious event.

With lakhs of devotees expected to descend on Bhadradri during the Pushkaralu, starting from July 14, this development comes as a huge relief for the temple staff and the pilgrims alike. As of now, the authorities are going to offer the online facility only during the Pushkaralu from July 14 to 25. The two websites - www.bhadrachalam.co.in and www.badrachalam.co.in will start working from Friday, according to temple administration.

As many as 15,000 tickets of Seeghra Darshan a day are available online for the devotees during the Pushkaralu. Besides this, there are 800 tickets each of Nitya Kalyanam, Sahasra Namarchana and Unjal Seva also available online.

According to sources, the temple will provide darshan facility 20 hours a day to ease the rush of devotees. While the Nitya Kalyanams start at 10 am every day, the Sahasra Namarchana will be held between 4 pm and 5 pm, and Unjal seva will be performed between 7 pm and 8 pm. “The devotees, who avail online services, are advised to keep photo identity cards along with the printout of booking details,” the temple executive officer K Jyothy said.

Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam is the second major temple in Telangana after Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy Devasthanam in Yadagirigutta to go online offering services like allotment of rooms, prasadams, sevas and anna danam tickets. However, the online services, as of now, are confined only to the extent of Pushkaram days. The facility would be extended for other important occasions, sources in the temple administration said.
