Nizamabad: Most of the loyalists of former Minister D Srinivas are not likely to follow in the footstep of their leader and join the TRS. Some of them, if not majority, are likely to remain in the Congress, according to indications available here.

Senior Congress leaders and the main followers of Srinivas are keeping away from Srinivas. They joined the tour to Shirdi, organised by former Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy, former Major Irrigation Minister P Sudershan Reddy, MLC Aakula lalitha and TPCC spokesperson B Mahesh Kumar Goud.

Former Nizamabad Market Committee Chairman Nagesh Reddy, City Congress party President Kesha Venu, former PCC Secretary Narala Ratnakar, NSUI leaders Gunraj and four Corporators of Nizamabad Municipal Corporation are not likely to defect to the TRS along with Srinivas.

Former DCC President and DS main follower, Gidugu Gangadhar, said that Srinivas had criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao many times. Now he was courting the Chief Minister, he said. Gangadhar said that he had remained a loyal follower of Srinivas for 20 years, but now he would not follow in the footsteps of him.

Nagesh Reddy, another loyal follower of Srinivas too declared that he was not interested in joining the TRS. Meanwhile, Srinivas arrived here on Friday morning from Hyderabad. He held a meeting with his followers at his house. Nizamabad Municipal Corporation corporators have reportedly decided to desert the Congress party and join the TRS. All the 13 Congress corporators are likely to join the Congress.

In Nizamabad urban and rural constituencies two ZPTC members Puppala Shobha (Nizamabad) Swathi(Nandipet), two MPP members Yadagiri (Nizamabad mandal), Rajanna (Jakranpalli mandal), 16 MPTC member, eight Sarpanches and various societies chairpersons are likely to join the TRS along with Srinivas.
