Hyderabad: The six-member committee which was constituted to look into the demands of ‘108’ emergency services employees will meet after July 12. The Telangana ‘108’ Employees Welfare Association president Mahender Reddy Mandaadi, working president Palle Ashok along with other employees met Minister for Health Dr C Lakshma Reddy at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

They discussed the promises that were given at the time when their strike was called off. Mahender Reddy Mandaadi told the Minister that the GVK-EMRI management had sent letters to all employees which stated that strike period would be treated as leave against the available paid leave (PL) balance.

“The management agreed on May 25 that the strike period would be considered as special leave. But, now they step back on their word. Which means we lose our paid leaves. The employees unanimously oppose the decision of the management,” Mahender Reddy told the Minister.

Lakshma Reddy spoke on phone with the member of committee, Vinay Bhaskar, and promised to interact with the ‘108’ employees and GVK-EMRI management as early as possible to resolve the demands of employees. The Minister assured that he would speak to the management and resolve the paid leave issue. Mahender Reddy said as there was Chief Minister’s programme in Warangal, Vinay Bhaskar might busy and the committee would meet after July 12.
