Hyderabad: The sprawling premises of Rashtrapati Nilayam at Bolaram in Secunderabad was deserted once again after 10 days of hectic activities as President Pranab Mukherjee left for New Delhi in a special IAF flight on Wednesday morning from Hakimpet Airport at about 11.30 am, winding up southern sojourn.

Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and a group of his Ministerial colleagues bid Pranab Mukherjee adieu on the occasion. Assembly Speaker S Madhusudana Chary, Council Chairman Swamy Goud, Deputy Chief Ministers Kadiam Srihari, Mahmood Ali, Ministers Eatala Rajender, T Harish Rao, G Jagadish Reddy and several officials were present.

During his brief stay in Hyderabad, the President hosted a tea party which was attended by the Governor, Chief Minister, Ministers, officials and media persons at Rashtrapathi Nilayam in Bolaram on Tuesday night. On the same day, he received a representation from AP Ministers and Chief Secretary, who sought enforcement of Section 8 and status quo on schedule IX and X of AP Reorganisation Act.

During his stay here, the first citizen of India visited Tirmuala and had darshan of Lord Venkateshwara and made it to Yadadri in Nalgonda district and had darshan of Lord Lakshmi Narsimha Swamy and participated in special pujas on the occasion.

The President also received the first copy of Uniki (Existence), a book written by Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, from Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao at a grand programme held at HICC in Hyderabad last week.

Pranab attended ‘At Home’ hosted in his honour by Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan. Earlier in the day, Ministers and leaders from two Telugu States made a beeline to Rashtrapathi Nilayam to meet the President.
