Hyderabad: A 6 year-old boy – Charan - got a new lease of life on his birthday on Saturday. A pencil which pierced into his heart was removed successfully by a team of doctors of Maxcure hospital in the city. Charan was injured when he was coming home from the school in his Narasampet village on Friday.

He had a near fatal fall as a pencil got pierced directly into his heart when he was running. The boy was immediately rushed to MGM Hospital in Warangal. As the hospital was not equipped with advanced medical facilities, doctors suggested the parents to shift their child to a corporate hospital for immediate surgery.

The head of the team of doctors in Maxcure Hospitals and renowned CT surgeon Dr Sameer Diwale said that a well planned surgery was conducted and the pencil was removed from the boy’s heart. The hole was also securely repaired (on a beating heart) and rescued the boy from the threat of losing his life.

Sameer said after surgery Charan’s vital organs were stable. Considering the poor financial status of the victims’ family, the hospital performed the surgery free of cost and lived up to the trust of its patients.

The hospitals’ unparalleled reputation in the field of cardiology has led Charan’s parents to come all the way from their native place and entrusted their son to the expert doctors at MaxCure Hospitals, he said, adding, “This is indeed a landmark achievement, adding to the ever-growing list of MaxCure’s impressive credentials.”
