SRSP releases waters for Godavari Pushkarams
The Sriram Sagar Project (SRSP) engineers started the water release from SRSP Dam. The dam engineers started with 500 cusecs and gradually increased the water levels to conduct River Godavari Pushkaralu successfully in Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts.
Nizamabad: The Sriram Sagar Project (SRSP) engineers started the water release from SRSP Dam. The dam engineers started with 500 cusecs and gradually increased the water levels to conduct River Godavari Pushkaralu successfully in Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts.
At first the dam engineers released 500 cusecs water into Godavari River from Kakatiya canal escape gates and gradually increased up to 2,000 cusecs. On Sunday morning it should be increased up to 3,000 cusecs. This would facilitate water to Pochampadu, Savel, Tadpakal, Gummiryal, Donchanda Ghats in Nizamabad and Yerdandi, Dharmapuri and other Ghats in Karimnagar district.
SRSP Assistant Engineer Boja Dasu said that they were ordered by the higher officials of Irrigation department to release water for River Godavari Pushkaralu. They started with 500 cusecs and gradually increased to 2000 cusecs and planning to release 3000 cusecs, he added.
