Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday evening hosted Iftar party at Nizam College grounds for which over 10,000 people turned up. Calling it the biggest ever Iftar party hosted in the state, the Organizers said that Dawat-e-Iftars was also organized in 100 mosques in the city.


The Chief Minister said that Telangana is progressing and the Ganga-
Jamunitehzeeb (the peaceful co-existence of the Hindu and Muslim cultures), will be brought back. Rs 26-crore package was earlier announced by the state to coincide with the Ramzan celebrations including Rs 9.75 crore for distribution of clothes to poor Muslims, Rs 4 crore for Iftar expenses totaling Rs 12 crore per annum.

The Iftar party was attended by Deputy CM Mahmood Ali, Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, scholars from different communities, clerics, ministers, MLAs and school children.
