Pensioners seek special increment. The Telangana Government Pensioners’ Association (TGPA) urged the State government to give orders sanctioning increment as special pay on the same pattern of serving employees as done earlier in accordance with the GO Ms No 23.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Government Pensioners’ Association (TGPA) urged the State government to give orders sanctioning increment as special pay on the same pattern of serving employees as done earlier in accordance with the GO Ms No 23.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, TGPA honorary president R Umadevi urged the government to release PRC-2015 arrears of nine months (from June 2, 2014 to February 28, 2015) in respect of pensioners and to pay at the earliest.

She also urged the government to issue specific instructions to enable the pensioners who were retired between July 1, 2013 and June 1, 2014 to exercise their option for fixation of their pay in terms of PRC pay scales-2015 and get other consequent benefits such as hiked pension, gratuity and commutation etc.

Umadevi also urged the government to provide discount for pensioners in Telangana State Road Transport Corporation district buses. She also urged the government to provide free treatment in corporate hospitals to the pensioners who had health cards.

She made it clear that they would float a Joint Action Committee and mount pressure on the government along with other retired employee unions in case the government failed to fulfill TGPA demands.

TGPA president Kanakam Komurelli, general secretary B Yugander Reddy, joint president MA Mazid, organising secretary G Padma Reddy, treasurer V Jayaseela, vice presidents P Chandrakala, TL Bhasker, A Venkateshwara Rao, joint secretaries TS Shobha, K Jaipal Reddy, Mohammed Hussain and K Lingaiah participated in the press meet.
