It may be recalled that a single judge of the High Court had faulted the university for the manner of excluding over 100 colleges for various courses and some totally from the realm of counseling.

State Advocate General K Ramakrishna Reddy pointed out that it was a common order. However the bench said that while the order was common and it would apply to all, the colleges would have to be heard in their respective appeals. A battery of senior advocates including CV Mohan Reddy, DV Sitharam Murthy,D Prakash Reddy, Vedula Venkataramana and L Ravichander along with advocates on record S Niranjan Reddy and S Sriram were in court to oppose the appeals.

Meanwhile Ramakanth Reddy counsel for the AICTE also informed the court about the differing jurisdictions of the twin statutory authorities- AICTE and JNTU. The bench then adjourned the matters to Wednesday to enable the listing off all the appeals.
