Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed his cabinet ministers and senior IAS, IPS officers to stay in various Pushkar ghat sites in districts for the next two days to oversee arrangements. He said that a heavy footfall could be expected in view of public holidays for the next two days.


In a review meeting on Godavari Pushkaralu held at his official residence in Begumpet on Friday, Rao expressed satisfaction on the arrangements and steps taken at various pushkar ghats. Dharmapuri alone witnessed a footfall of 4 lakh pilgrims so far, he said. The rush was the same in other prominent places like Basara, Kaleshwaram and Bhadrachalam.


Anticipating heavy rush for the next two days, he directed higher officials to take all necessary steps so that pilgrims were not put to any inconvenience. He asked Ministers Eatala Rajender and T Harish Rao and DIG Malla Reddy to oversee arrangements in Dharmapuri and Ministers Indrakaran Reddy, Jogu Ramanna and senior IAS officer C Laxmi Parthasarathi to monitor activities in Basar.


Likewise, ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Laxma Reddy along with Sunil Sharma (IAS) and MK Singh (IPS) were told to look after arrangements in Kaleshwaram while ministers Tummala Nageshwara Rao, G Jagdish Reddy and Manik Raj (IAS), Navin Chand (IPS) were directed to be stationed at Bhadrachalam. Also, the State DGP Anurag Sharma was directed to heli-hop to all major pilgrim centres like Bhadrachalam and Basar to personally inspect the security measures in place.
