Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday reiterated his government’s resolve to construct two bedroom houses for the poor living in the twin cities. During a visit to Indira Nagar basti and other slums near Sanathanagar and Kukatpally areas here, the Chief Minister found that the people living in pathetic conditions in the slums. He was surprised to see that the people were deprived of even basic amenities and living in crammed and ramshackle houses.
KCR asked the GHMC officials to prepare a layout to provide them with two bedroom housing facility. Interacting with people, the Chief Minster enquired about their source of income and promised to ensure that two bed room houses would be built for them. KCR said there were two lakh poorest families residing in slums in the twin cities and certainly they required a better and permanent shelter.

He said his government would provide them housing facility in G+2 model to all those needy in a phased manner. KCR also directed the officials concerned to construct a community hall for Muslims, who are living opposite Hyderabad Public School (HPS) area.

Health cards for journalists soon
Meanwhile, good news for working journalists and those retired scribes in Telangana State. After long wait of almost two years, the State government is offering health cards to the journalists soon, according to information. The Chief Minister on Tuesday directed the officials concerned to issue health cards to all the journalists working and retired in Telangana State.

KCR reportedly signed a file in this regard. He directed Government Advisor K V Ramanachary and Telangana Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana to make immediate arrangements for issuing health cards to the scribes.
