Dharmapuri (Karimnagar): The medical shops in the temple town of Dharmapuri are facing a dearth of skin allergy drugs as the demand for them from the priests, police personnel and sanitation workers has mounted.

Common skin allergy lotions such as Keladril, Calamine, Peritop and Calpure are also found to be out of stock. Surprisingly, the skin allergy drugs are also not available in the health camps set up by the district administration.

Some priests have developed rashes, bobbles and other skin diseases. The police personnel and sanitation workers too are also facing similar problems for standing in water for several hours while providing services to the devotees. As all of them have made a beeline the medical shops for skin related drugs, the medical shops in Dharmapuri have run out of stock.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday, a medical shop owner said that there was no stock of allergy medicines left in the stores as the demand for them grew enormously. More than 500 priests and 4,000 police personnel have been deployed in the temple town as part of the Godavari Pushkaralu.
