More than 18,000 seats remained vacant after the final web-based counselling for admissions into diploma courses through the Telangana State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (PolyCET) 2015. In all, 33,865 seats were filled in the 220 polytechnic colleges including government and private colleges while there were 52,172 seats to fill in.

Hyderabad: More than 18,000 seats remained vacant after the final web-based counselling for admissions into diploma courses through the Telangana State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (PolyCET) 2015. In all, 33,865 seats were filled in the 220 polytechnic colleges including government and private colleges while there were 52,172 seats to fill in.

The seats allotment for the final phase counselling was done on Wednesday. The candidates have to report to the colleges from July 23 to 25 and handover the original certificates of allotment order, fee paid challan and other related certificates.

A release from the Telangana State Council of Higher Education said that allotments made under sports category was subjective to final approval by the Sports Authority of Telangana for genuineness of certificates and priority. In the event of sports certificate found false, the provisional allotment stands cancelled and the candidate is liable for criminal prosecution, the release stated.
