Nizamabad: On the 11th day too of the 12-day Godavari Pushkaralu, a good number of devotees thronged the Pushkar ghats in Nizamabad district on Friday. Undeterred by rain, as many as 12.5 lakh devotees have taken a holy dip in river Godavari at various ghats of the district. The Godavari Pushkaralu have attracted lakhs of devotees from many States like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and others.

Many visited the Kandukurti, Pochampadu and Tadpakal ghats in Nizamabad district State Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy supervised the security arrangements at various ghats. The minister on an everyday basis visited the main ghats like Kandukurti, Pochampadu and Tadpakal ghats along with other small ghats and gave suggestions.

Srinivas Reddy visited the Kandukurti ghat on Friday and said that nearly 74 lakh devotees took holy bath in Nizamabad as Pochampadu, Tadpakal, Tungini ghats have fresh water and were closer to Hyderabad. MLC Umareddy Venkateshwarlu, Former AP Assembly Speaker KR Suresh Reddy, Kurnool Zilla Parishad Chairman took holy dip in Nizamabad district on Friday.
