Hyderabad: Bojja Tarakam, a senior counsel and National Secretary, Republican Party of India, on Saturday criticised the TRS government for being anti-people and ignoring the demands of Aarogyasri employees. Addressing the employees of Arogyasri at a Maha Dharna at Indira Park on Saturday, Tarakam said the salaries being to Aarogyasri employees were far below the minimum wage.


“The government was spending money on unnecessary activities. The government had granted Rs 100 crore to Yadadri,” he said. He demanded that the government immediately concede the employees demands. Over 1,000 employees participated in Maha Dharna in response to the call given by the Employees Association.

The employees attired in white Arogyasri apron raised slogans against the government. Meanwhile, the police allegedly arrested three Aarogyamithras, who went to Arogyamithra camp located near the Chief Minister’s camp office to invite the other Aarogyamithras to take part in the strike.

In another incident, the government terminated 70 employees who participated in the strike.
