HELPING HAND Govt to unveil policy for orphans welfare. The Telangana government is planning to come up with a policy for the welfare and protection of orphans and street children in the State.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government is planning to come up with a policy for the welfare and protection of orphans and street children in the State. A Cabinet sub-committee on Monday afternoon held a meeting at Secretariat here and took stock of the welfare measures to be taken up for orphans.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari chaired the high-level review meeting attended by Finance Minister Eatala Rajender and Welfare and Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna. It is learnt that they have discussed the important issue of taking welfare measures on behalf of the government which will announce a policy to cater to their needs. The sub-committee was directed to submit a report to the government after preparing modalities at the earliest, it is learnt.

Taking cue from Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the sub-committee is learnt to have focused on the issue which needs timely financial allocations to provide them shelter and food in twin cities and district headquarters. The committee will submit a report to the Chief Minister for taking a final call on the welfare measures and steps for protection of orphans and street children.
