GKHPS protest today
Gollakurma Hakkula Porata Samithi (GKHPS) has demanded the Telangana government and the police to immediately take back the notice issued to Prof Kancha Ilaiah, whose article has been published in a local daily, following a complaint by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Police Notice to Kancha Ilaiah
Hyderabad: Gollakurma Hakkula Porata Samithi (GKHPS) has demanded the Telangana government and the police to immediately take back the notice issued to Prof Kancha Ilaiah, whose article has been published in a local daily, following a complaint by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Addressing the media here on Wednesday, Samithi President Gosula Srinivas Yadav, General Secretary Dasari Nagesh Yadav and other office-bearers, condemned the police action in issuing notice to Prof Ilaiah , and said this went against freedom of expression guaranteed by the Constitution of India.
They said they would launch an agitation if the notice was not withdrawn. They appealed to the writers, artists, intellectuals and all democratic sections to participate in the protest programme being organised at Tank Bund on July 30.
