A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Friday modified its earlier orders on the release of funds and the formation of a separate High Court for Andhra Pradesh. Earlier the High Court had issued directions to the government of AP to decide on the availability of funds for establishment of the separate High Court.

Hyderabad : A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Friday modified its earlier orders on the release of funds and the formation of a separate High Court for Andhra Pradesh. Earlier the High Court had issued directions to the government of AP to decide on the availability of funds for establishment of the separate High Court.


The bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar was acting on a petition of the AP government. issued directions to the Central Government to take a decision as soon as possible and in accordance with Section 94 (3) of the Reorganisation Act.


The bench also admitted an application for review of the earlier order filed by the Telangana government. The government opposed the directions of the court which required the state government to house the High Court of AP in its new capital. The Telangana government in its review pointed out that the court erred in issuing such directions. It was pointed out that Section 31 (1) of the Reorganisation Act empowered the President to identify the seat of the High Court.
