Hyderabad: Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FIICI) Ladies Organisation (FLO) here on Monday urged the Minister for Industries, Jupally Krishna to allot land at an affordable price to enable women to set up industrial units. The FLO delegation comprising Rekha Lahoti, Samia Alam Khan, Vani Subhas, Jyotsna Angara and others in his chambers at the Secretariat.

The delegation submitted a representation to Krishna Rao regarding the MoU it had signed with the (Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) in November last for land allotment to enable FLO members to set up industries as part of Women Entrepreneurship Development Initiative.

As many as 36 members responded to the invitation to set up industries. The projects envisaged ranged from apparel, jewellery, food processing, retail furniture accessories, pharma instrumentation and others. The FLO had extended invitation to the members of not only in Hyderabad but also others across India.

Investment to the tune of over Rs 200 crores was expected to be made and it would generate employment for over 2,000 persons in the next few years in Telangana State. They appealed to the Minister to make available the land at an affordable price.

They assured the Minister that the FLO members would begin spadework in 24 to 30 months after taking possession of land to set up industrial units. The Minister said he would look into the issue and the government would provide all the help. The State government, he said, was determined to encourage women in all spheres.
