Mob attacks Marredpally police station
Enraged by a ‘custodial death’, a mob ransacked and set afire the Marredpally police station on Monday night. An inspector and four policemen were injured in the attack. Bandappa, 53, a resident of Gandhinagar-Valmikinagar, was taken into custody on Sunday.

Sources said Bandappa allegedly had a confrontation with a Karimnagar policeman during the Bonalu festivities in Secunderabad. His weird behaviour prompted the policeman to inform the local police. The Marredpally police took Bandappa into custody and booked a petty case.
On Monday, he was released during the afternoon. After returning home his health condition deteriorated. He was taken to a private hospital. The hospital management asked the family to take him to Gandhi Hospital since it was a police case. He died on way to Hospital. Alleging that he was beaten up during interrogation, the locals blamed police for his death.
