He would once again convene a meeting with the officials before making a decision. The liquor shops are now open till 10 pm, while the bars operate till 12 midnight. As per the proposed new excise policy of the Telangana Government, liquor shops should function till 11 pm. This move by the Government may face criticism from women as they have been complaining that all the liquor shops have become open bars.
The new excise policy is likely to come into force from October 1. So dry day for Gandhi Jayanthi may start an hour late this year in Telangana.
