During the Independence Day Celebrations that is to be held at Golconda Fort on Saturday, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is expected to announce the launch of Housing Scheme for the poor.

The “2BHK Houses for Poor” scheme was one of the major poll promises of TRS government. However, the scheme is yet to begin in districts although the 2BHK houses construction in G+2 model in IDL colony in Hyderabad had begun in October 2014.

KCR during his I-Day speech will be talking about the achievements of his government during the last one year and will also target the Opposition parties for criticizing the programmes or schemes launched by TRS government.

The Chief Minister is also expected to disclose the roadmap for implementing another poll promise of “KG to PG free education” in addition to the new scheme “Grama Jyothi” for development of villages. In the G+2 model, 396 houses are to be constructed in 32 blocks for which the government will spend Rs 37 crore towards the project. Each house will be built in 580 square yards of area at a cost of Rs 7.9 lakh.
