The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday raided the residences of Jangaon Deputy Superintendent of Police Kura Surender. Surender was accused of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The raids were conducted simultaneously on his residences at Hyderabad, Hanamkonda, Narsampet and Jangaon.

Warangal: The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday raided the residences of Jangaon Deputy Superintendent of Police Kura Surender. Surender was accused of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The raids were conducted simultaneously on his residences at Hyderabad, Hanamkonda, Narsampet and Jangaon.

ACB DSP R Saibaba informed that during the raids they have found half kilo gold ornaments, one kilo silver, Rs 8.18 cash, documents related to four flats in residential apartments, four house sites and two houses at his Balasamudram residence i Hanamkonda. The ACB officials also found Rs 67,000 cash along with 14 foreign liquor bottles at his residence in Jangaon, besides Rs 65 lakhs worth promissory notes related to the money lent to several persons.


The assessment of the properties of the police official was conducted till late hours in the evening. As per the preliminary assessment, he was said to have assets worth more than two crores, whose market value would be in multiple crores. DSP Surender was in ACB custody and he would be produced in the ACB court in Hyderabad after the property assessment was over.


Surender earlier worked at Narsampet and Hanamkonda in Warangal district. As the news of ACB raids on the DSP’s residence spread, hundreds of people have gathered at Nakshatra Apartments in Balasamudram in Hanamkonda.
