HC stays proceedings against Kancha Ilaiah

Justice A V Sesha Sai of the High Court at Hyderabad on Wednesday stayed all proceedings until further orders against Prof Kancha Ilaiah. A criminal case was lodged against the petitioner on his alleged comments on Hindu Gods in a news article. This was challenged in the present writ petition contending that invocation provisions of Criminal Procedure Code and Indian Penal Code in academic discourse was unconstitutional.
