Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali on Friday inaugurated four Rs 5 meal scheme centres in the Old City. The scheme is being implemented by the GHMC in collaboration with Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation (HKMCF). The four meal centres were opened at Mir Alam Mandi, Madannapet Market, Malakpet Area Hospital and State Central Library, Afzaljung.

Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and Charminar MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, TRS leaders Singiredy Srinivas Reddy, Md Azam Ali and Afzalgunj Md Azam Ali, Malakpet MLA Ahmed Bin Abdulla Balala, Akbarbagh, former corporator Syed Minajuddin, took part in the programme at Malakpet market area centre.

MLC Syed Altaf Hyder Razvi took part in the programme. GHMC Joint Commissioner Ravi Kiran, GHMC Zonal Commissioner Subramaniam and Chief Operating Officer of Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation (HKMCF) Kaunteya Swamiji were also took part Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister complimented the GHMC and HKMCF for providing healthy and tasty food under hygienic conditions for just Rs 5.

He said the TRS government under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was committed to welfare of people. He said as many as 41 meals centres were opened so far and in future 60 more centres would come up under GHMC limits. The 41 centres were catering meals to some 12,500 people daily. The government was providing subsidy at the rate of Rs 18 per each meal, he said.
