Hyderabad: The Congress leader and former MLA, Marri Shashidhar Reddy, on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the city police commissioner, accusing the Minister and Sanathnagar MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav of threatening the people of Kasturba Nagar in Rani Gunj of Secunderabad to vacate and move out of the slum.

Shashidhar Reddy along with a section of residents of Kasturba Nagar visited the City Police Commissioner’s office in Basheerbagh and submitted a letter alleging that Sanathnagar MLA was threatening the people of the Kasturba Nagar.

They said that earlier the MLA assured them that he would secure ownership documents to the slum dwellers. But the MLA was now stating that only 17 lands were regularised in the area and asking the others to leave. The MRO too was ordering a section of people to leave.

They said that some associates of MLA Srinvias Yadav had come to the area and took photographs and asked them to leave the area at the earliest. The people in the area felt threatened and panicked. That was why the people had appealed to the Police Commission to provide security to them and install CCTV cameras in the area, Shashidhar Reddy said.
