Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s ten-day tour of the dragon nation, concluded on Wednesday, has explained about the uniqueness of State’s industrial policy and scope for investments. KCR-led delegation, including Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and G Jagadish Reddy, top bureaucrats S Narsing Rao, Shanta Kumari and Aravind Kumar, met CEOs of 30 top companies and firms, and explained about business and trade prospects in Telangana.

Leo Group, considered one of the largest water pump manufacturers, expressed keen interest to manufacture heavy-duty pumps with an estimated cost of Rs 1,000 crore. The Chief Minister also addressed the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Dalian, and spoke about the sea change that China had undergone in last 30 years.

He also threw light on reforms and progress made by India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Telangana government’s industrial policy and flagship schemes like 2-bedroom housing for poor. During another session on urban development challenges, KCR explained his vision on development of Hyderabad and shared his ideas and experiences with Mayors and Vice Mayors of Chinese cities.

Meanwhile, he met WEF Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab on the sidelines of WEF meet and requested him to hold the next annual conference in Hyderabad.In Shanghai, the Chief Minister addressed “Investment opportunities in Telangana” meeting jointly organised by CII and Telangana government.

Close to 65 entrepreneurs and top executives attended the programme.Earlier an MoU was signed between Celkon and Makeno companies for investment of 20 million US Dollars in Hyderabad to set up LED TV unit. Two more Chinese companies specialised in manufacturing cellphone components and headphones have come forward to invest in Hyderabad.

KCR also had a 40-minute meeting with K V Kamath and Xian Zhu, president and vice-president respectively of New Development Bank, Shanghai that focuses on infrastructure growth in developing countries and sought their help in funding urban development projects, including waste to energy, irrigation etc.

In Beijing, KCR had a series of meetings with leading Chinese industrial companies and prospective investors. Chief Minister and his team had yet another bilateral meeting on Wednesday afternoon with representatives of (CFLDC) China Fortune Land Development Company.

The Chief Minister also visited Hong Kong, where he participated in a seminar on “Business Opportunities for Hong Kong Companies in the State of Telangana”. After his interaction with business captains, CM-led delegation visited the place of Buddha statue generally known as Tian Tan Buddha.
