Oppostition MLAs, not satisfied with the government’s reply on farmers issue, staging a sit-in protest inside the Assembly on Wednesday

Hyderabad: The state Assembly, which had witnessed excellent floor coordination for the first time during the last two days after the state of Telangana was formed, is likely to see fireworks on Thursday.

The opposition parties barring AIMIM, which had staged a dharna on the floor of the House after it was adjourned protesting against the failure of the government to make a clear statement on waiver of farm loans in single go, have now decided to raise the issue again and confront the government on Thursday.

With the agreement at the Business Advisory meeting that the House would discuss the farmers issue for two days over, the joint opposition wants to take on the government for its alleged casual handling of the issue.

MLAs STAGE SIT-IN
Unhappy with the reply given by the government to debate on suicides by farmers, all opposition parties sat on dharna inside the Assembly even after it was adjourned late on Wednesday evening.

Barring MIM members all other party MLAs sat on the floor of the House in front of the Speaker’s podium demanding that the government come out with a categorical reply with regard to one-time waiver of loans of farmers.

They demanded that the government announce a moratorium on loans taken by farmers from private money lenders. At around 9.45 pm, the marshals bodily lifted the MLAs and were sent to their respective party offices.
