Justice PV Sanjay Kumar of the High Court faulted the Central government and its agencies for muddling up with the task of fixing the post-retirement benefits of an employee the Border Roads Development Board.

The judge disposed of a writ plea filed by K Subramanyam complaining that the authorities had failed to pay him his retirement dues in accordance with law.

The judge took note of the fact that the petitioner has been fighting for his rights since 1985 and “ergo a lengthy and tortuous history precedes the case”.

Faulting the confusion at the behest of the authorities, Justice Sanjay Kumar pointed to the “ utter lassitude and negligence of the respondents in dealing with a pensioner who rendered loyal service .”

The Judge also ruled that the confidence reposed by the court in the Respondents in an earlier round of litigation has not been honoured .

Issuing positive directions the Judge said, “ the respondents have made enough of a muddle and a parody while dealing with the petitioner’s case and cannot be trusted to set right their mistakes”.
