Hyderabad: Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy and Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao on Tuesday said security in the twin cities had been beefed up to protect law and order.

Participating at a foundation stone-laying function at Kukatpally here, the Ministers said development was possible only if there was law and order in the State.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao sanctioned a police station for Kukatpally immediately when the officials sought for it, they said.

The TRS government had been taking steps to modernise police stations to enable police personnel to serve people better and maintain law and order, they said.

The government was focusing on maintenance of law and order to ensure peace and tranquility in the twin cities and all districts in the State.

Security had been beefed up in the city to enable the people to live without fear and with freedom, they said.
They alleged that the Opposition parties were making baseless allegations against the State government.
The KCR government was committed to the welfare of farmers and planning to waive the entire crop loans, they said.

The Ministers said the Chief Minister had announced housing facility for the poor that would be launched on Dasara festival day.

Every Assembly segment in 10 districts would get houses for the poor and the eligible would get their due,
they said and added that Water Grid, the flagship programme of the KCR government, was the first-of-its-kind in the country and would provide safe drinking waters to the people at their houses on schedule.

“Lakes restoration programme is also yielding good results. Water bodies and tanks are being filled to supply waters to crops in rural areas,” they said.
