Hyderabad: The statement made by Telangana State Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao that KCR would attend the foundation ceremony of Andhra Pradesh capital at Amaravati if invited has put the Telangana Congress in a piquant situation.

It is in a dilemma on the stand it should adopt if the AP government extends an invitation to them as well. The T Congress leaders including the TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and the Leader of Opposition in Assembly K Jana Reddy feel that the statement of KTR has a hidden political agenda.

They feel that it was aimed at winning over the Andhra population in GHMC areas. The T Congress leaders say that TRS thinks that if KCR attends the ceremony it would send a positive signal among the people from Andhra region staying here and they would also support the TRS government in the GHMC elections.

The question before T Congress is how to counter this move of TRS. Would it boomerang on the Congress if they are invited for the function and do not attend is what is bothering them. Another problem for the T Congress is that the APCC has decided not to attend the function on October 22.

Can two State units of the same party take different stand is what is bothering the Congress leaders.
