Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy imposed restrictions on the movement of vehicular traffic at some places to facilitate the public participating in Dasara and Muharram festivals from October 22 to 24.

In a notification issued on Tuesday, the commissioner informed that the traffic from Khairatabad flyover towards NTR Marg would be diverted at Necklace Rotary towards I-Max theatre lane - Saifabad traffic police station – Mint Compound or towards People’s Plaza.

On October 24, from 11 am to 9 pm, the vehicular traffic would not be allowed to proceed towards Alawa Bibi and would be diverted at Sunargalli T Junction, towards Dabeerpura Darwaza or Yakutpura Nala. Traffic would not be allowed to proceed towards Shaik Faiz Kaman and would be diverted at Jabbar Hotel,

towards Dabeerpura Darwaza or Chanchalguda, and the vehicles coming from Yakutpura railway station would not be allowed to proceed towards Shaik Faiz Kaman and would be diverted at Bada Bazaar ‘T’ Junction, towards Rein Bazaar or Talab Katta.

The traffic from Purani Haveli (Durru Shehvar Hospital) would not be allowed to proceed towards route of the procession Etebar Chowk and would be diverted at Purani Haveli crossroad, either towards Peeligate or S J Rotary.

When procession reaches Etebar Chowk, the traffic from Mitti Ka Sher would not be allowed to proceed towards route of the procession at Etebar Chowk and would be diverted at Gulzar House, either towards Madina crossroad or Charminar,

and the vehicular traffic coming from Moghalpura water tank would not be allowed to proceed towards route of the procession at Chowk Maidan Khan and would be diverted at Hafez Danka Mosque, either towards Paris Cafe or Bibi Bazaar.

When procession reaches Alijah Kotla, the traffic from Himmatpura crossroad would not be allowed to proceed towards route of the procession at Charminar and would be diverted at Punchmohalla, either towards Moghalpura fire station or Chowmahalla Palace.

Further, the commissioner said from 4 pm to 8.30 pm on October 24, the traffic proceeding via Tank Bund towards Karbala Maidan would be diverted at Children's Park towards Kavadiguda, Bible House and R P Road.

Citizens have been asked to take alternate routes to their destinations and avoid the above routes during the specified timings and cooperate with the traffic police during the period of traffic diversion, the commissioner said in the note.
