Khammam: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka alleged the TRS government of cheating the people of Telangana by making false promises.

Speaking to the media at the district Congress party office in Khammam here on Saturday on the issue of double bedroom houses, Vikramarka said that many people were suffering due to the immature decisions taken by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the TRS government. He said that TRS came to power by making false promises to the people.

The Congress leader said: “KCR said that his government would construct double bedroom houses for all the poor and weaker sections of the people in the State. And now it is going back from its promise by constructing only 400 houses in one constituency out of which 200 houses would be recommended by the MLA of that constituency. That means for each village KCR’s government is constructing only two houses.”

He questioned that if the government was going to construct only 400 houses per constituency, why did it promise to construct double bedroom houses for all the poor and weaker sections in the State.

The government till now had not released the funds to those people who constructed the houses under Indiramma scheme and in Khammam district about four lakh new applications were received through online for the houses this year, the TPCC working president said. The budget allotted for the construction of the houses was also too less, he added.

He also said that the method of loan payments (farm loans) to the farmers in four to five instalments was resulting in farmer suicides in the State. The farmers have been taking loans from private money lenders at high interest rates as the banks were not giving fresh loans. Unable to repay loans, the farmers have been resorting to the extreme step of committing suicides, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said.

He said that in the previous government of Congress, farmers were given loans at zero interest rate but the TRS government after coming to power was pushing the farmers into problems by not waiving the loans at one go and also not allowing the banks to give fresh loans.

He demanded that the government waive off crop loans at one go and rescue the distressed farmers in the State as the agricultural produce was decreasing day by day.The Congress leader warned the government that the people were waiting to teach a fitting lesson and get rid of this false government.

The people thought that they would live happily in Bangaru Telangana but were worried now about their future with no jobs, no industries and no water for drinking and irrigation.Congress party district president A Sathyam, party members Somla Naik, R V N S Prasad, Md Javed and others were present in the meeting.
