Govt to bear medical expenses of Vaani-Veena. Health Minister Dr Lakshma Reddy on Monday informed that the Telangana Government would bear the total expenses of surgery of conjoined twins Vaani and Veena, who are housed at Niloufer Hospital.
Hyderabad: Health Minister Dr Lakshma Reddy on Monday informed that the Telangana Government would bear the total expenses of surgery of conjoined twins Vaani and Veena, who are housed at Niloufer Hospital.
The minister said that doctors at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have been consulted and a team would soon visit Hyderabad to explore the possibilities of conducting a surgery to separate the conjoined twins.
The twins have turned 12 and they have been staying at Niloufer Hospital for the last few years. The hospital authorities had written a letter to the State Government to shift the twins to other hospitals. The minister informed that the request was under consideration.
