Hyderabad: In a move to promote theatre in Hyderabad, the TS government has commissioned a project like Broadway called ‘Theatre District’, announced Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, (IT).
Ranjan shared this information at the launch of 10th Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival at HICC on Tuesday. “The government has keen interest to promote theatre and artistes in the State and we will start investing on the Theatre District at the historical Taramati Baradari in the city,” he said.
Concurring with Ranjan, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said, “Artistes are assets of the State and they bring fame and glory to the State.
The government is working towards promoting them and the Theatre District will be a reality soon. And we are planning to set up many more venues like Ravidra Bharathi, where the prices will be nominal and it will be a boost for artistes.”
