Every dog has a day,’ says an adage. And that has come true when 49 sniffer and attack dogs received honours from none other than Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy and the State’s topmost cop Anurag Sharma here on Thursday.

And that has come true when 49 sniffer and attack dogs received honours from none other than Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy and the State’s topmost cop Anurag Sharma here on Thursday.

The Intelligence Security Wing Training Center at Moinabad in Ranga Reddy district witnessed the amusing scene of trained dogs conducting their passing out parade. In all, 49 dogs completed their eight-month-long training and participated in the passing out parade.

Out of 49 dogs, 25 are from Andhra Pradesh, 20 from Telangana and four from Tripura. The canines were trained in identifying culprits, drugs, explosives and attacking criminals. The dogs’ parade and their different feats attracted the people who attended the programme. The security staff of VIPs’ model exhibition too came as a pleasant surprise.

Naini Narasimha Reddy, DGP Anurag Sharma, Intelligence Wing chief Shivadhar Reddy and Security Wing IG Mahesh Bhagwat received the honour from the dogs’ parade.
