A team of ten officials of Election Commission of India (ECI) from New Delhi arrived in Hyderabad on Thursday to take stock of complaints received by the Commission over deletion of voters from the electoral rolls in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.

Hyderabad: A team of ten officials of Election Commission of India (ECI) from New Delhi arrived in Hyderabad on Thursday to take stock of complaints received by the Commission over deletion of voters from the electoral rolls in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.

The committee will examine the complaints registered by the BJP, Congress, TDP and others that the names of voters have been illegally removed to favour the ruling party. The team is expected to visit localities like Musheerabad, Baghlingampally, Chikkadapally and interact with people. The team would also schedule a meeting with representatives of various political parties and civil society representatives on the issue on Friday.

The officials would also call on the State Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal, and is expected to hold a meeting with GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar and other officials involved in the electoral rolls preparation.
