Hyderabad: The Telangana government will distribute 1,000 auto-rickshaws in Hyderabad and 500 in every district among eligible unemployed Minority youth under Driver-cum-Owner Scheme on November 11, to mark the birth anniversary of Abul Kalam Azad.
In this regard, Deputy Chief Minister Mahamood Ali held a review meeting on the Minorities’ welfare and told the media at the Secretariat that the government would release Rs 50,000 to each of 250 Urdu schools in the State towards facilities and infrastructure.
He also said in Hyderabad, the officials concerned received 2,800 applications for 1,000 auto-rickshaws. The Minority Welfare Department was planning to build a comprehensive building block in each district to accommodate Haj House, Wakf Board, Urdu Academy and Minority Welfare Corporation.
Mahmood Ali said steps were being taken to fill 250 vacant posts in various departments, including Hyderabad. Towards foreign education, the Minority department would provide financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh in two installments, he said. He also added that stern action would be taken against land grabbers after a survey soon. Minority Muslim girls were being encouraged for education and jobs with training, he said, adding that the government was extending Rs 51,000 financial assistance for their marriages.
The Deputy CM informed that under Shaadi Mubarak scheme, the department has received 21,000 applications as against 20,000 proposals this year in Hyderabad. Funds were ready for construction of one building for a residential school in every district after finding land, he said. He also accused the previous government of ignoring the plight of the Minorities and added that the TRS government was taking all steps for their welfare with adequate funds.
