Hyderabad: In a bid to ensure that those who aspired for party ticket and could not make it do not dent the prospects of the party candidate in the by-elections, TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao, on Saturday, exhorted the leaders not to get disheartened. He assured all those who were in the race that the party would recognise their services and would give them important responsibilities at appropriate time.

KCR, who was addressing the party leaders after handing over the B Form and A Form to Pasunuri Dayakar said that Dayakar has been a loyal party worker despite having lost a chance to get party ticket in the past. He was not only an active worker during the agitation for separate Telangana state but had also got many statues of Telangana Talli prepared and got them erected at many places. Rao said he had spoken to all the aspirants and after convincing them only he had announced the name of Dayakar and hence it was now the responsibility of leaders and workers to ensure that the TRS gets bigger majority than what it had got in the last elections. “Dayakar is a poor leader and we have to spend party fund towards election expenses and win the seat,” he added.

He said all those who take part in the campaign should tell the people the achievements of the government in last 16 months. They should highlight how the state has been pulled out of power crisis and how the government had launched several welfare schemes.

Telangana is number one state in terms of implementing welfare schemes and this needs to be impressed upon the people, he said. Rao said barring KG to PG scheme the government had implemented all other promises. He announced that Kalyana Lakshmi scheme will be made applicable to BC girls. He said a related exercise is on to provide the scheme to all those who are under BPL category. Thus technically, the marriage scheme will be extended to all those girls under BPL category, Rao said.
